Since 2022, A.F. Blakemore & Son have a invested a significant amount of money on upgrading our in-store refrigeration systems. This was an essential step toward reducing overall energy consumption while modernising our store environments and driving sustainability for the benefit of our customers, colleagues, and communities alike.
Over 2023/2024 our Blakemore Logistics team took a major step toward environmental sustainability by adding four state of the art electric HGVs to the fleet. The electric HGVs are a significant asset in reducing the company's carbon footprint and they are already having a positive impact on our operations and the environment.
The ongoing Recycling Centre project, based in Willenhall, West Midlands, provides a dedicated waste and recycling centre that processes a variety of materials. As a result of our team's efforts with the project, the company now sends zero waste to landfill, with 44.18% of waste being recycled and 12.85% processed via aerobic digestion.
