Electric HGVs, a step closer to our net-zero goal

Over 2023/2024 our Blakemore Logistics team took a major step toward environmental sustainability by adding four state of the art electric HGVs to the fleet. The electric HGVs are a significant asset in reducing the company's carbon footprint and they are already having a positive impact on our operations and the environment.

In 2023/24, our Blakemore Logistics team took a major step towards sustainability by adding four state-of-the-art electric HGVs to their fleet.

These zero-emission vehicles, supplied by Hartshorne Group and Volvo Trucks, feature an impressive range of 185 miles, making them a significant asset in reducing the company's carbon footprint. Operating across the Midlands and Wales, the electric HGVs are helping to contribute to cleaner air in local communities while enhancing the company's commitment to greener operations and environmental sustainability.

The introduction of these electric HGVs is just the beginning of the A.F. Blakemore & Son's journey towards becoming a net-zero carbon business by 2040. The fleet has already completed 122,388.64 km between March and December 2024, demonstrating the positive impact these vehicles are having on operations and the environment.

This move reflects the business’s dedication to building a better future by integrating more sustainable solutions into their logistics processes.
